About Us

Focused By Design

Clear Chain Custody Management is a purpose-built SaaS platform focused exclusively on chain of custody management for funeral service providers.

We do one thing—and we do it with intention: support accurate, compliant, and transparent chain of custody at every step of care. By maintaining a singular focus, we help funeral homes reduce risk, strengthen accountability, and uphold the trust families place in them.

Built by Funeral Service, Not Adapted to It

Clear Chain Custody Management was founded and is led by Denise Robichaud, Founder and President—a licensed funeral director, embalmer, and crematorium operator in Nova Scotia with nearly 20 years of experience across the full scope of funeral service operations.

Her background includes hands-on care, preparation, crematory operations, and senior leadership within a full-service funeral home. This experience informs a platform that reflects the pace, responsibility, and precision required in real funeral home environments.

As President, Denise brings a leadership philosophy grounded in professionalism, accountability, and respect for both families and the professionals who serve them. Her approach centers on building systems that protect people—by ensuring responsibility, documentation, and handoffs are always clear and defensible.

Clear Chain Custody Management is intentionally designed around one core function: maintaining a clear, traceable chain of custody.

  • Responsibility moves between people, roles, and shifts
  • Documentation must be accurate, timely, and defensible
  • Processes must remain clear under pressure
  • Systems must support consistency without disrupting care

Every workflow, data point, and handoff within the platform exists to support this single objective.

“Chain of custody is not a feature—it’s a responsibility. Our platform exists to support that responsibility with clarity and care.”
— Denise Robichaud, Founder & President

By concentrating exclusively on chain of custody, Clear Chain Custody Management delivers focused technology that feels intuitive to funeral professionals and upholds the standards families and communities expect.

Purpose-Built for Compliance and Confidence

Clear Chain Custody Management is not a general management system. It is purpose-built specifically to support chain of custody requirements across care, transfer, preparation, cremation, and disposition.

The platform supports:

  • Clear, auditable documentation at every handoff
  • Consistent accountability across teams and locations
  • Reduced risk of error through structured, role-based workflows
  • Readiness for inspections, audits, and internal review

By focusing on chain of custody alone, the platform delivers depth, clarity, and consistency—without unnecessary features or distractions.

Family-Forward by Design

Behind every chain of custody record is a family placing trust in the funeral home caring for their loved one.

Clear Chain Custody Management supports that trust by offering an optional, controlled family portal that allows funeral homes to share selected information with families—only what the firm chooses to make visible.

This approach balances transparency with professionalism:

  • Families receive clarity and reassurance
  • Funeral homes maintain control over shared information
  • Internal workflows and documentation remain protected

Families may never see the full system, but they experience its impact through clear communication, confidence in care, and the assurance that their loved one is being handled with respect and accountability.

Our Mission

Our mission is clear and focused:

To provide funeral service providers with reliable, transparent chain of custody tools that protect families, strengthen trust, and elevate standards of care throughout the entire journey.

Clear Chain Custody Management is modern software with a singular purpose: supporting one of the most critical responsibilities in funeral service—doing the right thing, every time.

A Letter from the Founder

To my colleagues in funeral service,

Chain of custody is not an abstract concept. It is a responsibility we carry every day—often quietly, often under pressure, and always with the understanding that families are trusting us at one of the most difficult moments of their lives.

Over nearly two decades in funeral service, I have worked across care, preparation, crematory operations, and leadership. I have seen how easily documentation gaps can occur—not because of negligence, but because funeral homes operate in real-world conditions: after hours, across shifts, under emotional strain, and with multiple people sharing

responsibility for care.

Clear Chain Custody Management was created to support funeral professionals in those realities. It is not designed to replace professional judgment or existing procedures. It exists to reinforce them—by making responsibility, documentation, and handoffs clear, consistent, and defensible.

This platform reflects the standards I believe our profession holds itself to: respect for the deceased, accountability among professionals, and transparency that strengthens trust with families and regulators alike.

By focusing exclusively on chain of custody, we have intentionally chosen depth over breadth. Every workflow in this system exists to support one obligation—maintaining a clear, traceable record of care from the

first transfer to final disposition.

My commitment is simple: to build technology that respects the seriousness of our work, supports compliance across Canada’s provincial frameworks, and helps funeral professionals do what they already strive to do—care properly, document clearly, and act with integrity.

Thank you for the work you do, and for the responsibility you carry.
