Digital Chain of Custody Built for Funeral Professionals
Clear Chain Custody Management is a purpose-built platform for Canadian funeral homes, crematories, and transport providers. It helps teams document custody, transfers, personal effects, and handoffs with clarity, accountability, and care.
The Risk Is the Gap Between Transfers
Custody does not stay in one place. It moves between people, shifts, vehicles, locations, crematories, and third-party providers — often under time pressure, and sometimes after hours.
Each of those transitions is a moment where a documentation gap can occur. Not because of negligence — but because funeral homes operate in real-world conditions where paper logs get missed, verbal handoffs go unrecorded, and consistent documentation is difficult to maintain across a team.
Clear Chain helps reduce those gaps by creating a structured digital record at every handoff — capturing who transferred custody, when, where, and under what circumstances — so the full picture of every case is always clear and defensible.
How It Works
A structured digital workflow that follows every case from first transfer through final disposition.
Create or receive a case
Open a new custody record when the case is received. All documentation attaches to this record from the first point of contact.
Assign a unique QR Code
Each case receives a unique QR Code that travels with the decedent throughout the care process.
Scan at each custody handoff
Staff scan the QR Code at every transfer point — whether that's a first call, an internal handoff, a crematory transfer, or a vehicle change.
Capture staff responsibility, time, location, notes, and signatures
Each scan records the full context of who took custody, when, and where — with optional digital signatures where applicable.
Track personal effects alongside the custody record
Personal effects are documented alongside the custody record throughout the care process — from receipt through final return or disposition.
Export a clear case history when needed
Generate organized custody reports for internal review, inspection preparation, or documentation requests — whenever you need them.

Now Accepting Founding Pilot Funeral Homes in Canada
Clear Chain is accepting a limited number of Canadian funeral homes, crematories, and transport providers for guided early access. Pilot partners will help shape practical custody workflows, documentation standards, and operational fit — and will receive direct support throughout the process.

Built by Funeral Service, Not Adapted to It
Clear Chain was founded by Denise L. Robichaud, a licensed funeral director, embalmer, and crematorium operator in Nova Scotia with nearly 20 years of funeral service experience. Her background spans hands-on care, preparation, crematory operations, and senior leadership — and it informs every decision made in building this platform.
Clear Chain is not adapted from general software. It is designed around the pace, responsibility, and precision that real funeral home operations require.
